Remote Help

Welcome to the UCSC CruzControl service page. This service is intended to be used in conjunction with phone consultation by an ITS technician. If you are not currently in phone contact with a technician please initiate a call now.

If you are requesting help with a residential (ResNet) access issue call x9-4NET (459-4638). For all other issues please call 459-HELP (4357).

Facts about the Remote Control program:

  • Double click on the executable and enter your information for the Support Center/ResNet staff to connect to your computer. Simply downloading the Remote Control program is not enough to allow the technician to connect.
  • Running the Remote Control program does not install anything on your computer. Deleting the .exe file and emptying your computer's trash folder will completely remove the program.
  • Once the Support Center/Resnet staff have disconnected from your machine, they cannot connect again unless you double click the remote control icon again.
  • Keep the program on your machine during your Support Center/Resnet session, but please delete the program once your issue is resolved to make sure you always have the most up-to-date version.
  • While this software is compatible with all versions of Windows, our ability to assist with Vista issues is somewhat limited at this time.
