ITS Holiday Closure Information 2009

 

This page provides information on the operations of Information Technology Services (ITS) during the upcoming holiday period and campus closure. Included are instructions on problem reporting during the closures.

During the holidays and related closures, (831) 459-HELP (4357) will be the main number for departments to call to leave messages regarding critical system or service problems. Messages will be reviewed every six hours during the closures, and support staff will be on call to restore critical network and central server services in the event of any failures to these systems.

Tickets opened in IT Request and emails sent to help@ucsc.edu will be answered after the holiday closures.


Campus Closure Dates

November closure: November 26 - 27, 2009

December closure: December 19, 2009 - January 3, 2010

To Report Technical Problems During the December Campus Closure:

  1. Dial (831) 459-4357 Messages will be checked every six hours.

ITS Support Center

  • The ITS Support Center will be closed during the campus closures.
  • You may report critical network and system service problems on the (831) 459-4357 voicemail, which will be checked every six hours.

Instructional Computing: Labs, Faculty Instructional Tech Center, Adaptive Tech Room

Data Center

  • Data Center operators will cover full seven by twenty four (7 x 24) hour operation during the campus closures.
  • You may report critical network and system service problems on the (831) 459-4357 voicemail, which will be checked every six hours.

Network Services

  • All campus network services will remain in operation during the campus closures.
  • ITS will respond to unplanned network problems during the closure. Problems related to user and printer outlets will be handled on Jan. 2, 2008 when the campus reopens.
  • You may report critical network and system service problems on the (831) 459-4357 voicemail, which will be checked every six hours.

Telecommunications Services

  • All campus voice systems will remain in operation during the campus closures.
  • Telephone repairs will be handled normally through reports made to 459-3111 except during the December campus closure.
  • Move/add/changes will not be performed during the campus closures.

Learning Technologies - Media Services

  • Media Services will be closed during the campus closures.
