HP Toner/Ink Cartridges Return Program
August 21, 2009
Every time you recycle your HP printer toner/ink cartridge in the HP cardboard recycle box, you are contributing to the "HP PurchasEdge" program that can help the campus save money and get greener. Here’s how:
1) The campus receives points for all HP toner and ink cartridges we purchase from Palace or OfficeMax, tracked through CruzBuy. These points add up, and then can be used toward the purchase of new printers, fax machines, scanners and HP supplies.
2) We also receive points by collecting used toner/ink cartridges. So, don’t throw them away in the trash! Always recycle your used cartridges by dropping them into an HP recycle cardboard box located at the following areas around campus. If you would like a cartridge recycle box in your building, please contact Jamin Trowbridge by email at jamint@gopalace.com

3) In addition, there is a separate HP program going on right now through the end of October where we can exchange old printers for new ones. Keep in mind that new printers are a whole lot more energy efficient than the ones from 10+ years ago. Please contact UCSC Buyer, Kate Cunningham for rebate information toward purchasing a new printer. kecunnin@ucsc.edu
Systematically, the oldest printers throughout campus will be replaced as points accumulate. So please make sure to purchase your HP supplies through CruzBuy (http://cruzbuy.ucsc.edu/) and RECYCLE your ink/toner cartridges!
If you have any questions about this program, please contact Kate Cunningham at: kecunnin@ucsc.edu
