Program & Project Management

In addition to helping you plan, launch, manage, or assess projects, we offer project management methodology, which defines the five phases of a project life cycle, plus tools and templates built especially to assist you during the life cycle of a project. We also sponsor monthly Project Management Brown Bags. Our project managers can also assist you with the following:

  • Initiating project work - problem definition, background research, brainstorming ideas, project selection, and help in the development of a proposal. If needed for larger scale projects, we can provide project management as well.
  • Coaching you through the phases - assisting project leads in developing and managing steps in a project life cycle, as well as utilization of the template documents such as proposals, scorecards, charters, change requests, and closure statements.
  • Planning assistance - we can help in identifying resources, breakdown work, building schedules, auditing phases, and reviewing progress.
  • Training and consultation - we are available to lead seminars, discussion roundtables and courses in project management. In addition, we can help by providing individual mentorship and focused consulting in areas such as project structure, sponsorship, governance, risk management and resource allocation.

Project Life Cycle

Project methodology life cycle defines the five project management phases or processes: define, plan, launch, manage, and close. Each phase addresses a specific aspect of managing a project or program from define through close. Although these phases are described sequentially, in practice some of these phases may overlap or be applied concurrently during the lifetime of your project.

The result of each phase is described by a set of project management deliverables or artifacts. These artifacts afford you visibility to application of the methodology and define clear communication to your project stakeholders.

Project Management Tools and Templates

The program and project management tools provide you with a set of customized project management reference materials and templates built to assist you during the lifecycle of a project.

The toolkit is a common format for evaluating progress toward your project's goals, objectives and deliverables. The reference and template documents comprising the framework are provided as guidelines for the management of projects of all sizes.

These files are MS Word .doc files. You can use them as they are, or save them as MS Word templates. For information on working with templates, download the instructions below.
