Classroom Support
ITS provides classroom presentation media support and services for academic courses. A wide range of services are offered to assist the instructional needs of faculty and students. Portable equipment is available on a short-term basis from our checkout facility for both instructors and students currently registered in an academic course.

Classroom Services & Support

Using Classroom Support Use of installed classroom presentation media equipment in general assignment classrooms during regular class periods is available at no cost for courses during the academic year (A combination code is required).

Classroom Media Equipment Database

Portable presentation media equipment is available from our checkout facility located in Kerr Hall room-149. Portable equipment may be checked out for up to 3-working days and advanced reservations are strongly encouraged. All equipment is available on a 1st come 1st served basis. Delivery, set-up and removal of portable equipment to and from any classroom on campus are offered for a fee.

Pricing Use of permanently installed presentation media equipment in general assignment classrooms is provided at no cost for current academic courses.

Portable media equipment picked up at the Media Services checkout facility is also provided at no cost when being used for a current academic course. Delivery, set-up and removal of portable equipment to and from any classroom on campus are offered for a fee. Students need UCSC identification with current quarter sticker and faculty authorization to checkout equipment.

Note: A Course is defined as being listed in the current UCSC schedule of classes, having a class number, meeting at the time and general assignment location listed and having mandatory attendance of students.

Policy Loan Extensions: No extensions will be granted to late checkout items. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Late Return of Checkout Items: A loss of checkout privileges will result from two incidences of returning equipment late during the same quarter. NO EXCEPTIONS! (2 Strikes = Loss of Checkout Privileges for the quarter)

Late Fee Assessments:
  • Checkout items not returned on the agreed-upon due date will be assessed the daily rental fee for each day the equipment is late.

  • Items not returned one week after the agreed upon date will be assumed lost or stolen and the client will be assessed the replacement costs for these items.

Related Services & Links Scantron test scoring service for academic placement exams, mid-quarter evaluations, midterms and finals will be completed in two working days.

Video production, both professional staff and student staff camcorder shoots, off air recording, tape transfers, and duplication services. Production activities require two working days notice and are subject to current workload.

Special Event Support including materials (e.g. film, videotape, audiotape, and batteries) associated with special events, course instruction, non-course instruction, and production.

Teleconference, Videoconference, UCSC TV (cable casting) and Video Streaming, these activities require five working days notice and are subject to current workload.
