Mailing Lists Mailing lists are for faculty, staff, and students who wish to send email to a pre-defined list of email accounts with under 1000 recipients. Mailing lists are also used by campus organizations or units where more than one person answers email addressed to the organization. If you require a list longer than 1000 recipients, then you must apply for the Mass Mail feature. For the Mass Mail feature you will maintain your own list on a desktop client and you will need a director level approval to utilize the Mass Mail feature. Requests for Mass Mail can be sent to the Support Center. Anti-Virus Resources Policy Electronic Official Communications Statement Official UCSC electronic correspondences will be sent to @ucsc.edu email addresses. Email Abuse Investigation & Response University policy prohibits the sending of harassing email messages or unsolicited email by faculty, staff, and students, and we will take appropriate action in response to violations. The configuration of your client is different depending on which method you are using. Email Clients - Installation - IMAP Using IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocoll) causes email to be stored on the mail server where you can access new and stored messages from various computers, including CruzMail web mail. Email Clients - Installation - POP Using POP (Post Office Protocol) causes email to be downloaded from the mail server to your local computer. This keeps the server inbox empty until new mail arrives. Eudora Retirement Looking for Eudora? ITS ended support for it on January 30th, 2009.
