Learning Managment System (WebCT)
The Learning Management System (LMS) is also known as WebCT Blackboard Campus Edition. It is an integrated set of
web course tools that can be used to supplement a class taught mostly face-to-face or can be used to teach a course
entirely at a distance online. WebCT incorporates many optional tools which facilitate learning and communication,
including discussion boards, online grade posting, online quizzes, audio and video clip integration, and live chat,
as well as providing a space to post a syllabus, course announcements, and assignments.
Using LMS (Web CT)
Students and faculty can access course materials and tools via secure,
validated web browsers
using their CruzID Blue for login and password.Student access to courses is active only during the quarter offered and by official enrollment or consent of instructor. Normal completion time is 3-5 business days upon receipt. This may take longer if the information is incomplete or requires staff consultation to determine the course layout, tool selections or other unique information. Completion may take up to ten business days during peak periods (1 week prior through 1 week after the commencement of the quarter and during finals) due to staff workload at the beginning of the quarter. Courses are refreshed and student data removed after the student evaluation due date on the Academic and Administrative Calendar. Users are responsible for creating, archiving and maintaining their own content. Course Recovery may incur costs if tapes are offsite. Clients are responsible to pay for actual vendor fees for transfer of offsite tapes for the recovery process. |
