We make software available to you through educational or volume discounts by facilitating campus wide agreements with University software vendors who provide educational discounts for Apple, Microsoft, Filemaker, Adobe, Parallels Desktop for Mac and other products. We also coordinate site license and volume purchase agreements of software in association with the UC Office of the President. This service helps you save money by pooling our resources.
ITS Software Release
New versions of software are released at a frequent rate, and ITS is coordinating planning and testing for most standard end-user applications in use on campus. This includes identifying and tracking new software versions and updates and coordinating the completion of support plans.
UCSC has access to low prices for many types of popular software from our preferred Re-Seller SHI (Software House International).

Tax is charged for an entire order when CD/DVD media is purchased with licenses. ITS generally has the media available to install your software, so you don't need to buy it.
If you do not purchase media when ordering on-line from SHI, you will not be taxed when you certify this statement on the order form:
“All products purchased on this order are to be distributed via electronic download only. No tangible media or documentation is to be shipped in association with this order. Access to the products purchased on this order is in no way dependent upon any tangible media that may have been received prior to, or separately from, this order.”
