Video and Media Production

Professional, broadcast-quality digital video (IEEE-1394), as well as SVHS & VHS formats, are available for recording events. Media Services provides trained, professional staff for consultation on all aspects of production encompassing scripting, pre-production, field and studio shoots, as well as post-production, including video and digital editing, digital effects, and production music.

Features and Functions Video Production & Editing
  • Production/Post-production of scripted video programs and event documentation
  • Multi-camera high-quality remote unit with live switching for remote location events (live via cable, streaming on the web, or recorded for later distribution)
  • Distribution to and from most campus locations and classrooms via UCSC cable system
  • Dubbing to and from most video standards
  • Satellite downlink recording and live presentation of educational, informational, and foreign language programming (may be recorded off-air for instructional use under certain guidelines

Video Duplication and Standards Conversion
Media Services provides duplication of videotapes, transfer of slides or 16mm films to videotape, and translation between international video standards. Only copyright cleared materials can be considered for this service. Most requests can be handled within two working days.
