Change Your CruzID Password

About Your CruzID and Password

Your CruzID and password give you access to many services such as:

  • CruzMail (@ucsc.edu)
  • CruzNet (wireless access)
  • WebCT (Learning Management)
Your CruzID will not give you access to administrative systems such as BANNER (FIS), PPS, SIS, or the Data Warehouse.

Changing Your AIS and MyUCSC Password


From MyUCSC:
  • Log in and navigate to the Personal Info & Option area.
  • Select Change Password.
  • Click the Change Password link.
  • Enter your current password, then enter your new password. MyUCSC passwords must be at least 8 characters long and have a combination of letters and numbers. They are case sensitive.
  • Click OK.

To set up your Forgotten Password help:

  • Log in and navigate to the Personal Info & Option area.
  • Select Change Password.
  • Click the Change or set up forgotten password help.
  • Type in a question and answer, click OK.

My Student Administration (for staff)
To change your password:

  • Log in and navigate to PeopleTools.
  • Click Maintain Security > Use > My Profile.
  • Click the Change Password link.
  • Enter your current password, then enter your new password. MyUCSC passwords must be at least 8 characters long and have a combination of letters and numbers. They are case sensitive.
  • Click OK.

  • Log in and navigate to PeopleTools.
  • Click Maintain Security > Use > My Profile.
  • Click the Change or set up forgotten password help.
  • Type in a question and answer, click OK.

If you cannot remember your password contact help@ucsc.edu to have your password reset.
