| Computer Repairs Home The ITS Support Center can assist you with software related repairs over the phone (459-HELP) or via email (help@ucsc.edu). In conjunction with RESNET we also provide students, staff, and faculty, who connect via dial-up to the campus modem pool, with virus infection cleanings, and Windows patch updates. This is done on a limited basis and must be schedule with the Support Center prior to bringing in an infected system. Those users with high speed internet connections are encouraged to do self-cleanings on their machines from home. Information regarding self-cleanings are located at the ResNet page http://resnet.ucsc.edu/virus/ The ITS Support Center does not support hardware related problems (examples: hard drive failures, cd rom or floppy disc drive issues, or inoperative printers). If you own a MAC, there is a warranty repair shop (ElectronicsFacility) on campus, located in the basement of Baskin Engineering, room B-55. You can reach the repair shop by phone at 459-2606. If you own a PC, there are many local computer repair shops in the Santa Cruz area. To find one that works for you, please look in the yellow pages of the Santa Cruz Phone book under computer repair.
