Get software by downloading it free from Microsoft

Internet Explorer (IE) is a series of graphical web browsers developed by Microsoft and included as part of the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems starting in 1995.

IE 6 & 7 are on the ITS Standard Software Support list.

Software Installation

Internet Explorer (IE) is a free download from the Microsoft website.

IE 6 has a history of security issues. The ITS Support Center recommends upgrading to version 7.

IE 7 was included with Microsoft Vista upon its initial release (Jan. 2007). Vista now ships with IE 8.

IE 8 was released in March 2009 and will be included with Windows 7 (due out later in 2009).

Software Support

IE 6 & 7 are on the ITS Standard Software Support list.

Support Level
Level Three Troubleshooting support for application launch and basic functions (open, save, print, etc.)

Self-help or configuration instructions may be available.
