MCCA is an annual license based on FTE of a division, department or unit. ITS Software Licensing manages enrollment each year.

If your unit is licensed under the Desktop Package, your Macs are eligible to run Windows OS under Bootcamp, or virtually under Parallels or Fusion. If you are only licensed for Office Enterprise, you can purchase a Microsoft Select Vista upgrade with Software Assurance license from SHI and be licensed to run a Windows OS on your Mac. The Software Assurance portion of the upgrade license is required to be renewed in January of 2011, and every three years after.

MCCA customers are eligible for free Microsoft e-Learning courses. Contact ITS Software Requests for information and access. There are 187 courses available that have been designed for the IT Professional and Information Worker.

Under the Home Use Program, employees who are licensed under MCCA for Office 2007 or Mac Office 2008 may acquire a licensed copy from the new Home Use Program to install and use on a home computer. You may continue using HUP software while you are under UC employment and as long as the corresponding software you use at work has active MCCA coverage. For Windows OS or for Staff & Faculty not licensed under MCCA or SA, licenses can purchase from Bay Tree Bookstore or http://ucsc.onthehub.com, proof of UC affiliation is required during registration.

• Full time faculty = 1 FTE
• Part-time faculty= 1/3 FTE
• Full time administrative staff= 1 FTE
• Part-time administrative staff= 1/2 FTE

Students employed in non-academic positions are counted as part-time administrative staff, and students employed in academic positions (such as TAs and GSRs) are counted as part-time faculty.

Round up your FTE count for total.
