How Do I Purchase a License for Windows 7?

ITS supports Windows 7 Professional and Enterprise.

Windows 7 Professional
Windows 7 Pro is purchased from SHI through CruzBuy, and can only be installed on a PC as an upgrade (the computer has a current Windows OS installed). Purchase assistance is available from ITS Software Licensing.

Windows 7 Enterprise
Windows 7 Enterprise is available under the MCCA volume license program. Units licensed in the MCCA Program. If your unit is a MCCA Desktop Package subscriber, then there is no charge to upgrade to Windows 7.

Users licensed to run Windows 7 can downgrade to Vista or XP Pro provided that the system in question has vendor supplied device drivers available for Windows XP or Windows Vista.

Windows on Mac Virtualization

In order to run Windows in a virtual environment or Boot Camp on an Intel Mac OS X computer, you must purchase a copy of Windows that includes Software Assurance (SA). The SA portion of the license is renewed every three years, next in January 2011.

Software Pricing

Mac users licensed for the MCCA-Desktop Package can run Windows in a virtual environment or Boot Camp using the Windows license included in the Desktop Package.
