UCSC Information Technology Survey

About the Survey

slug image for surveyITS seeks to better understand campus technology needs, how well ITS is meeting those needs, and where to focus efforts in making improvements. The survey provides ITS with valuable, direct feedback from campus constituents. This survey has been undertaken with input from the Academic Senate Committee on Information Technology (CIT), and Institutional Research, Assessment, and Policy Studies (IRAPS).

Participants

The 2023 Information Technology Survey was held April 17 - May 5, 2023.
Invitations to participate were extended to all campus constituents, including:

  • Undergraduate students
  • Graduate students
  • Faculty
  • Staff

Objectives

  • Understand views of the campus IT experience
  • Understand expectations for ITS support and services
  • Understand satisfaction with ITS support and services
  • Get insight into which areas to prioritize for further investigation and improvement
  • See how our efforts are progressing over time

Security

  • The survey was administered in Qualtrics which is approved by IT security to store survey data.
  • Personally identifiable details such as email, names, or CruzIDs were not collected, and survey results have been anonymized. For more information, see the ITS Privacy Statement for User Experience Research.
  • All raw survey data is stored in Qualtrics. Only designated individuals in ITS are able to access raw survey data.

Analysis & Findings

ITS shares survey findings with campus leadership, the Committee on Information Technology (CIT), ITS, survey respondents, and other interested parties.
