Learning Glass Services

This service is offered by Faculty Instructional Technology Center for faculty, graduate student or staff to use for the creation of instructional materials  

A summary of service includes:

  • The use of the Learning Glass Studio at the FITC facilities in McHenry Library:

    • The Glass Studio consists of the Room, Learning Glass, Camera and associated audio equipment, lighting and monitor(s) for recording.
  • The availability of a technician to set up and monitor recording:

    • You can contact the FITC office to schedule an available technician.
  • Some post-production preparation of recording:

    • Post-production preparations:
      • Basic adjustments for color correction.
      • Video and audio quality.
      • Addition of one opening title screen.

      • One copyright/contact screen.

      • Concatenation of up to 4 separate recordings (“takes”)
      • Compression and conversion of raw file to deliverable format.

      • Files will be delivered as .mp4 format, unless otherwise requested.
      • Second copy of deliverable file that includes YouTube-generated captioning and separate transcript file (if file size/length complies with YouTube policies).

      • Archival of raw footage and delivered file(s) for 6 months.
  • The availability of an editing studio and software to make addional Modifications.

    • You may reserve The Media Editing Suite at the FITC Facilities in McHenry Library with this reservation form.
    • The Editing Suite, FITC 1347, includes:
      • Large-screen Mac with Retina display.
      • Cintiq touch+pen editing tablet.
      • Lavalier microphone.
      • Soundproof room.
