Email Clients: Setup Guide

If you access your UCSC email from an email client (Thunderbird, Apple Mail, O365, PostBox, Spark, etc.) or if you use an application that accesses any GSuite tool (LucidChart, etc.), you will see ththe screen below on your first sign in to UCSC Google Apps on or after August 26, 2019. 

Instructions on what to do: 

  1. Leave the radio button checked for Ask me again if information changes
  2. Select Accept. You will only have to do this step once.

  3. Select your UCSC email address. The picture below shows only one account - you might have more than one account. Select the email address that ends in “”.Choose google account
  4. The application you are accessing will list all of the permissions it needs. Your list of permissions may be longer than the image below. Select Allow.


  1. You’re done! Your client or application has been granted access to your Google email account. You can now close the open window and start using your email.
