Mail Setup: Outlook on Unmanaged Machines
Version number can be checked in the following way after starting Outlook:
- Outlook 2007 and previous
Help -> About Microsoft Office Outlook
- Outlook 2010
File -> Help -> About -> Additional Version and Copyright Information
- Outlook 2013, Outlook 2016, Outlook 2019 and Office 365
File -> Office Account -> About Outlook
Verify the version number. In the case below, the version is 15 after the year 2013. You can ignore the numbers after the period, they are the build number.Microsoft Outlook 2013 (15.0.4481.1510)

If you have an unsupported version of Outlook, please go to Microsoft official website for instructions on upgrading your version of outlook. If you need help upgrading your version of Outlook please submit a ticket with the ITS Support Center. Tickets can be submitted on ITRequest.
Once your version of outlook is up to date, please follow the instructions below on setting GSuite Sync.
- To download G Suite Sync, either by googling the name, or from this link:
https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gappssync
- Install the application as an administrator. Installation will complete and automatically open setup.
- Your default internet browser will open and prompt you to enter Cruz ID, Gold password and then will ask you to MFA.
- After successful CruzID login, Google Account manager will ask you to select the email account.
- Then at the bottom of the page click “Allow” to allow G Suite Sync for Microsoft Outlook access to your Google account.
- Return to Set Up G Suite Sync window from step 3 and click “Create profile”
- The sync is now configured, click “Start Microsoft Outlook”.
- Outlook will open a prompt, select your profile and click “Ok”
- Set up is now complete and you will be able to see emails from the newly synced Google profile.
