Launching a technology guide for new students

Starting college is an exciting new journey, but it can be overwhelming. That’s why ITS is excited to introduce a tech guide for students, designed to help incoming and ongoing students navigate the technology and online tools they will need throughout their time on campus.

What the guide offers

This guide is a one-stop resource that covers many aspects of technology that students will encounter during their time at UC Santa Cruz. It covers a wide range of essential topics, including tips for new students:

• Getting your laptop ready
• Knowing how to log in and manage account credentials
• Ways to stay safe and secure
• Steps to review lived name and identity information
• Get started with some of the most used campus technology

This guide is an important resource for all students, and also a reminder of ITS’s commitment to supporting our campus community and improving their technological experience at UCSC. Many thanks to everyone who contributed outstanding work to this project!
