Apple's new operating system, macOS Ventura (13.0), was released on October 24th, 2022.
January 2023:
ITS has tested Ventura and can now support it. Version 13.1 was released in December 2022 and is the recommended version to use. Mac hardware released since October requires Ventura, but we will continue to re-deploy and set up older Macs with macOS Monterey for now.
Ventura (just like Monterey) does not support 32-bit applications. Please be aware of what 32-bit applications you may use before updating to Ventura. If you are unsure about how Ventura would affect your Mac, please contact your local ITS technician or the Help Desk (459-HELP).
Ventura can run on:
iMac 2017 and later
iMac Pro 2017
MacBook 2017
MacBook Pro 2017 and later
Mac Pro 2019 and later
Mac Mini 2018 and later
MacBook Air 2018 and later
Mac Studio 2022
