Copyright Information for Students

Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Notices

DMCA notices are sent through campus email. Your prompt attention is required to avoid loss of network access.

How does this notice affect you?

It is important that you remove all copyrighted material identified in the DMCA notice from your computer and acknowledge that you have done so. If you do not, your ResNet network access privileges will be restricted to campus-only websites (MyUCSC, Canvas, etc.) and email for a minimum of 10 days.

If this is your second (or third) DMCA notice you will have additional sanctions, including longer restrictions and enrollment holds.

Following the DMCA notice, students will also receive communications from the Conduct and Community Standards Office.
