Emergency Telephone Services
Quickly connect to emergency services from your personal cell phone or a campus phone. Blue Light Emergency Phones throughout campus provide direct access to UCSC emergency responders.
To report an emergency:
- Dial 911 from any wired telephone or cell phone.
- Use a Blue Light Emergency Phone for direct access to UCSC emergency responders.
- Call (831) 459-2345 to reach campus dispatch directly.
- Suicide and Crisis Hotline: Dial 988 from any phone for immediate support.

- 911 can detect your location when calling from wired and cell phones.
- Blue Light Emergency Phones provide immediate and direct connection to UCSC emergency responders
- Some cellular calls may still go to California Highway Patrol (CHP), depending on the cell phone provider. If you do reach CHP, please be sure to inform the operator that the emergency is at a UCSC campus location and the operator will contact campus dispatch
- Alternatively, (831) 459-2345 can be used to reach campus dispatch directly in an emergency
