Security Incident Detection and Response
To keep our computing environment safe, ITS is always looking into potential security incidents and working with the campus community to resolve them quickly. If a security incident is detected, you will be contacted directly by a member of the Information Security Team.
Features
- Our Information Security team:
- Monitors the UC Santa Cruz computing environment for vulnerabilities and responds to reported incidents
- Helps analyze, investigate, and fix issues, then notify the right people about incidents
- Is the main point of contact for coordinating responses to security incidents with other campus units and outside agencies
- If you are contacted by a member of our team regarding a vulnerability or incident we’ve detected in your area, it is vital that you respond immediately to minimize the threat
- If the team does not receive a timely response to an identified threat, action may be taken by the team to limit access to the UC Santa Cruz network in order to manage vulnerabilities
