User Experience Research Pool

The ITS User Experience (UX) Research Pool is a group of students, faculty and staff who have been pre-recruited for participation in UX research studies, most typically surveys, interviews, and usability testing, to help improve websites, applications, and digital experiences at UC Santa Cruz.

Join the UX Research Pool

Are you interested in helping to improve campus digital systems and services?

Research pool participants are emailed periodic invitations to join surveys, feedback sessions, usability tests, prototyping sessions, and more. You decide whether to opt in for any given invitation. Some research activities provide an incentive for participation such as gift cards or bookstore items.

We welcome anyone affiliated with UC Santa Cruz to participate. Most research activities are brief, conducted online, and require only access to a quiet space, an internet connection, and a mobile device or computer capable of running Zoom.

Use the UX Research Pool

The User Experience Research Pool is managed by Information Technology Services (ITS) and, while IT-related research projects are our priority, we often have capacity to collaborate on UC Sant Cruz projects and initiatives.

Note that in order to recruit from the pool your research must be intended to improve experiences of people using UCSC digital services or systems, for non-commercial or non-profit-seeking purposes, be exempt from IRB requirements.

Please contact contact the ITS User Experience team (ux@ucsc.edu) to discuss your project.
