Faculty and Research Web Services

Web Services Publishing image Faculty and research web services are designed to support the professional, academic, scholarly, and research needs of UCSC faculty and researchers.

WordPress Websites

Faculty, graduate students, and research staff can use WordPress to create websites to highlight professional, research, and other scholarly activities.

WordPress is a website management system that allows you to create websites with very little technical or design expertise.  It comes with design templates, a relatively easy-to-learn editing environment, and a host of tools to make your website look fantastic. See https://sites.ucsc.edu for more information.

Instructional Websites

Faculty Instructional Technology Center (FITC) staff are available to consult with instructors on best practices for developing course materials and creating course websites in Canvas, our learning management system.

Website Hosting

For users who want a do-it-yourself website, we provide server space to host your files. ITS provides a secure and reliable environment, you provide your web expertise and content.

Google Sites

All faculty, staff, and students have access to Google Sites.  UCSC account and Google Group permissions make sharing and collaboration easy and therefore make Google Sites a great solution for intranets and project sites.
