Instructions on How to Setup eduroam

To connect to the eduroam wireless network, you must first configure your device(s).

Before You Begin

  1. Be sure that you:

CREDENTIALS FOR ALL DEVICES

  • Username: Your full UCSC email address (cruzid@ucsc.edu)
  • Password: Your CruzID Gold password

Windows PC

  1. Click here to configure eduroam
  2. You should see the "Welcome" screen with your Operating System already chosen. If not then use the drop-down menu by Select your device.
  3. Click JoinNow.
  4. You will be prompted to download an application called JoinNow MultiOS.
  5. Click Save File, then open the EXE file that was downloaded.
  6. Double Click on the JoinNow MultiOS application to install it.
  7. On the warning prompt, click Open.
  8. Click Yes on the UAC prompt.
  9. On the authentication prompt, enter your username (cruzid@ucsc.edu) and your Gold password.
  10. Enter device description (Lenovo Laptop).
  11. Click Next.
  12. Once the Wireless Configuration Portal is complete, click Done.
  13. The Wireless icon will display a connection to eduroam.

MAC OS X

  1. Click here to configure eduroam
  2. You should see the "Welcome" screen with your Operating System already chosen. If not then use the drop-down menu by Select your device.
  3. Click JoinNow.
  4. You will be prompted to download an application called JoinNow MultiOS.
  5. Open the application file that was downloaded.
  6. Double Click on the JoinNow MultiOS application to install it.
  7. On the warning prompt, click Open.
  8. On the authentication prompt, enter your username (cruzid@ucsc.edu) and your Gold password
  9. Enter device description (Mac Book Pro Laptop).
  10. Click Next.
  11. When prompted, enter your Apple computer’s Username and Password, click OK. 
  12. On the change access permissions prompt, click Allow.
  13. Once the Wireless Configuration Portal is complete, click Done.
  14. The AirPort wireless icon will display a connection to eduroam. 

iPhone or iPad

  1. Click here to configure eduroam
  2. You should see the "Welcome" screen with your Operating System already chosen. If not then use the drop-down menu by Select your device.
  3. Enter your UCSC username (cruzid@ucsc.edu) and choose JoinNow.
  4. You will be prompted by a dialog saying "This website is trying to download a configuration profile. Do you want to allow this?" choose Allow.
  5. Popup message will appear "Profile downloaded - Review the profile in settings app if you want to install it." choose Close.
  6. Navigate to Settings App. Click on Profile Downloaded.
  7. On the Install Profile Popup, choose Install.
  8. If you are prompted for a device pass code, enter it.
  9. Select Correct.
  10. Enter your GOLD password, choose Next.
  11. Profile Installed page is displayed, choose Done.

Android, Blackberry, Linux, or other Window Phones

To setup eduroam for an Android or Linux device, use the manual configuration instructions


ChromeBook

If your ChromeBook was procured through and issued by ITS, then it will come to you already configured for eduroam connection and you will receive with the device specific instructions for your use of eduroam.
