Instructions on How to Setup eduroam

Before you begin

Be sure that you:

  • Know your CruzID and Gold password.
  • Connect your device via cellular network, ethernet, or choose ‘UCSC-Guest’ as your initial Wi-Fi.
  • Have local admin rights/authority on your computer/device(s).
  • Contact the ITS Support Center if you need assistance with any of the above.

To connect to the eduroam wireless network, you must first configure your device(s).

Why configure your device(s)?

ITS recommends configuring your device(s) using the eduroam instructions below, instead of manually connecting using your list of networks. Using the eduroam configuration process provides a more secure experience and aids in maintaining connectivity to the eduroam wireless network.

Your Wi-Fi account credentials

  • Username: Your CruzID@ucsc.edu (If you have an alias email, ensure your CruzID is entered instead of your alias email address).
  • Password: Your CruzID Gold password
