eduroam Secure Wireless

eduroam is the secure, world-wide roaming wireless access service developed for the international research and education community. eduroam is the free encrypted wireless service at UC Santa Cruz that allows students, faculty, staff, and visitors from other participating institutions, to connect securely to the Internet. For more information visit the eduroam website.


How does eduroam work?

All students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to use eduroam for secure WiFi connection. Once you have setup eduroam for your device(s), you will be able to connect to eduroam WiFi on any campus where the service is offered.


Can I use eduroam at participating universities?

Yes! Before you visit another campus, make sure to setup eduroam for your device(s). List of participating institutions.

Pricing and WAPS Installation

eduroam is included in the Information User Assessment so there is no additional cost to use this service. Wireless access points (WAPS) can be installed at a recharge fee that includes parts and labor. Request WAPS Installation


Service Level Agreement

eduroam provides internet access to students, faculty, and staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Wireless Service Level Agreement (SLA)
