How to Use Email
Trouble Accessing UCSC Email? Password Reset or GET HELP
Login with your CruzID and Blue password. ITS recommends that you always access your UCSC Google Calendar via a secure web browser such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Internet Explorer.
Email Mailing Lists
Mailing lists are for faculty, staff, and students who wish to send email to a pre-defined list of email accounts. Mailing lists are also used when more than one person is expected to answer email addressed to a single campus organization.
UCSC Mailing Lists can be created by faculty, staff, and students using UCSC Google Groups. Creating new mailing lists using Mailman, has temporarily been suspended. All mailing lists should be created in Google Groups.
Google Apps-Only Account
This type of account replaces what was known as "Email Only" accounts and is often used as a point of contact for an office or organization such as "sammyslug@ucsc.edu". A GoogleApps-Only account includes Google Email, Calendar, Documents and other Google applications available to UCSC. More Information / Request this Account
Google Email Nickname
The Google Email Nickname is an alternate email address associated with your UCSC Google email address. You can use it to send and receive email, but it doesn't change the your CruzID. You still login with your CruzID and Blue password to access your UCSC Google email account, but you can send and receive email as the nickname address. It does not affect Google Calendar or any other Google Apps. More information / Request this Service
