ITS provides telephone services to the UCSC faculty, staff and students. Services are provided to UCSC locations that are on campus and some off campus locations. Telephone services include wired landlines and micro-cellular antennas that provide cellular phone coverage on campus for major cell phone carriers.

Important Note: Even from a cellular phone, you should be immediately connected to UCSC campus emergency services. If not, then announce that you are on the UC Santa Cruz campus as soon as you are connected so that your call can be transferred as quickly as possible. Alternately, you may dial (831) 459-2345 to be immediately connected to campus emergency services.
Telephone Service for Faculty and Staff
ITS offers analog and digital telephone service to faculty and staff. Analog telephones are standard telephones with touchtone keypads. Two digital telephone models are currently available to campus clients. The only difference between the two models is the number of programmable buttons each one has. These buttons allow additional lines, features, and functions to be programmed on the instrument.
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
As a component of the TIU project, the campus is designing an internally managed Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service and converting the campus telephones to this new network. More Information
ITS offers teleconferencing, web conferencing and video conferencing services for UCSC campus groups.
ITS continues to work with a variety of wireless telephone providers to bring the campus the best connection in wireless technology. Micro cellular antennas are installed at numerous locations on campus, providing continuous campus coverage for major wireless providers.
