Purchasing a New Windows Computer
UC has negotiated pricing with Dell to get the lowest total cost available. Prices do not include shipping or CA environmental fees.
You can order Dell Desktop & Laptop computers using the CruzBuy punchout for Dell. The punchout lists UC Standard Configurations with special pricing: four desktops and three laptops. These are "Super Saver" configurations that allow limited configuration options.
When ordering a new computer if you are licensed for Windows 7 under the MCCA program, order the computer with Windows 7 Home (this is the default) to save the cost of the Windows 7 Pro license. ITS will install Windows XP Pro or Windows 7 Pro on the new computer.
Windows 8: Microsoft released a new Windows operating system (Windows 8) on October 26. ITS is currently testing its features and compatibility with campus software, services, and busines systems. ITS recommends choosing the Windows 7 operating system since it's fully supported. Upgrades from older Windows operating systems to Windows 8 will be available in early 2013. More Information
