Standard Computers
Computers are funded by Divisions or Departments according to local policies. ITS does not provide centralized funding for faculty, staff, or student computers. Please contact your Divisional Support for assistance with purchase recommendations.
Windows ComputersUC has negotiated pricing with Dell to get the lowest total cost available. Prices do not include shipping or CA environmental fees. You can order Dell Desktop & Laptop computers using the CruzBuy punchout for Dell. The punchout lists UC Standard Configurations with special pricing: two desktops and two laptops. These are "Super Saver" configurations that only allow limited changes. When ordering a new computer if you are licensed for Windows 7 under the MCCA program, order the computer with Windows 7 Home (this is the default) to save the cost of the Windows 7 Pro license. ITS will install Windows XP Pro or Windows 7 Pro on the new computer. |
Mac ComputersUCSC has educational pricing available with Apple from the Apple Store for Education. Prices do not include shipping or CA environmental fees. You can order Mac destkop & laptop computers using the CruzBuy punchout for Apple. The Apple punchout opens in a separate window, so you will need to enable pop-up windows in your web browser. Please note that all new Mac computers must run Mac OS X Lion.
