Web Analysis Tools

The UCSC website, www.ucsc.edu, and associated pages collect information to improve functionality and content and to monitor performance. Data is used to help answer specific questions about the usage and performance of the website or individual web pages. UCSC uses third-party web analysis services to help gather and analyze this information.

Use of Google Analytics for Web Statistics

The UCSC website, www.ucsc.edu, and associated pages use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”).

Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer to help analyze how users use this web page. SlugHub

Collection and analysis of search terms: UCSC's SlugHub tool (itrequest.ucsc.edu) collects information on terms used to search for Frequestly Asked Questions (FAQ) & Knowledge Base (KB) articles to improve functionality and content. Data is used to help answer specific questions about the information users search for in order to improve articles and user success in finding appropriate knowledge base articles.
