ITS held several digital accessibility listening sessions last month to gather information from our campus community on the current state of digital accessibility at UC Santa Cruz and how we can improve it.
The listening sessions were very well-attended, with 188 attendees engaging on topics related to digital accessibility. Access4All, a consortium of higher education accessibility experts and our partners in this project, gathered a lot of valuable information and will now compile a report with recommendations that will ultimately become part of a larger strategic planning effort around digital accessibility.
We intend to have a draft of the strategic plan complete later this summer or early fall.
In the meantime, to give people who could not attend the listening sessions (or for those who participated but have additional comments to share), we are keeping the survey open until April 19, 2024.
This short eight question survey takes about 5-10 minutes. If you submit before the deadline, Access4All can incorporate your ideas into their report and recommendations.
If you would like to know more, please explore the digital accessibility strategic planning web page. If you have any additional questions, contact Jim Phillips (jphilli1@ucsc.edu).
And remember that you can always Report an Accessibility Barrier by clicking on the link at the bottom of all UCSC web pages.
Here you can report a physical or digital barrier or just make a suggestion on how we can improve the accessibility of UCSC’s digital environments and our campus.
