The recent Microsoft Windows 10 Creator's Update has adversly affected many user's personal computers when connecting to the Eduroam and Cruznet campus networks.

If you are being affected by this issue, please follow the steps below.

Steps to disable Rsc using Microsoft's automated tool:

1) Clicking the following link will download the ".diagcab" file:
2) Run it, and let it see if it can determine the problem and fix it.
3) Re-test your wireless internet connection.

Residential Network Services (ResNet)

UCSC Colleges, Housing and Educational Services partners with Information Technology Services to provide Residential Network services (ResNet) in the residential halls, apartments, Family Student Housing, the Village, the Camper Park and the University Town Center in support of the educational mission of UC Santa Cruz.

Locations & Hours

For the fastest service, we recommend that you bring your computer to ResNet service location listed below Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM during the academic calendar. 

College Eight ResNet

Rachel Carson College (Formaly College Eight) ResNet Office

  1. Take any loop or city bus going towards the Rachel Carson College bus stop.
  2. Proceed to walk towards the Rachel Carson College Dining hall.
  3. Before going down the first set of stairs, turn right and head all the way down the hall to Room 258.

Stevenson College ResNet Office


  1. Take any loop or city bus going towards the Bookstore bus stop.
  2. Walk towards the Stevenson Dining hall.
  3. Keep walking past the dining hall and veer right towards the Stevenson Houses.
  4. Casa 11 (House 11) is located at the front of the houses, closest to the gym. Room 125 is on the back side of Casa 11 facing the Stevenson classrooms/library.
