Internet Service Disruption - Dec. 29
- On Wednesday, December 29, 10:00 PM to Midnight PST, ITS is installing a new firewall on the campus network to improve our campus internet security.
Brief outage
- This work may result in multiple brief interruptions (no more than 5 minutes) to the campus internet connection during this time period.
Next Generation Firewall Project & UCSC Network Security Changes
Good to know
- ITS is working in consultation with campus units to facilitate the non-disruptive deployment of the new firewall policy and implement necessary security changes to the campus network.
- The new firewall will not apply to research internet traffic on the campus Science DMZ.
