Personnel Records

Personnel records are files containing information about individuals employed by the university. These records typically include relevant information related to the employment relationship between the individual and the university. UC Santa Cruz personnel records are generally classified at data protection level P3. Personnel records are maintained for both academic faculty and staff.

Academic personnel records include, but are not limited to:

Staff personnel records (listed in Section 80 of the Personnel Policies for Staff Members) include, but are not limited to:

  • Telephone number and home address
  • Spouse's or other relatives' names
  • Birthdate
  • Citizenship
  • Income tax withholdings
  • Performance evaluations
