LMS Update: Moving from eCommons to Canvas
UCSC is transitioning our LMS from eCommons to Canvas. Beginning in Spring 2017, Canvas at UCSC will have course shells available for all courses in the Catalog.
eCommons will remain available through Winter 2018. However, faculty are encouraged to begin migrations now.

The Faculty Instructional Technology Center is located in the McHenry Library as part of the new addition. This suite offers instructors, graduate students and support staff a collection of related services and flexible spaces supporting instructional technologies, innovations in teaching and collaboration while supporting instructor’s ability to imagine and develop innovative, accessible course materials. Our Instruction Studios offer our students a chance to experience new active learning opportunities in flexible, moveable classrooms spaces with built-in webcast functionality for streaming or archiving. For near and far collaboration, our modern video conferencing facilities allow for group or personal connections. When a quiet editing is required for a narration or audio/video editing we offer sound controlled space including a mini studio for professional production work. All on one floor with easy access to professional instructional technology staff and student consultants.
Find us at the Learning Technologies Suite at McHenry Library. Providing one location for consultation on instructional design, eCommons (our collaborative learning environment), student performance evaluations, innovative classroom research, and activities. Featuring standardized media and furnishings that are flexible, durable and designed for modern classrooms and collaborative physical spaces. Our equipment pool and check out allows us to place equipment where it is needed, when it is needed within the suite. Equipment includes document cameras, adaptive listening devices, microphones, Huddleboards (moveable whiteboards) for collaboration and standardized laptops in a cart for seminars, classroom group activities, or individual editing needs.
