ITS is pleased to announce a significant improvement to the UCSC Guest Wifi login process. Your feedback through last year’s ITS annual survey has been invaluable, and we have listened attentively to your suggestions for enhancements. We are committed to continuously improving our services based on your needs and preferences.
What’s changing?
Beginning Friday, March 29, 2024, logging in to the UCSC Guest Wifi will include:
- Simplification: We have redesigned the login interface to make it more intuitive and straightforward that no longer requires a cumbersome registration process. With just a few clicks, you'll be connected to the UCSC Guest Wifi in no time.
- Enhanced user experience: Say goodbye to complex authentication procedures. Our new approach prioritizes user convenience and ease of access, ensuring a better experience for everyone.
NOTE: All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to use eduroam for secure WiFi connection. The UCSC Guest Wifi service is accessible to campus guests (individuals without a CruzID) and serves as an emergency WiFi option should eduroam be unavailable.
If you require additional access to certain campus systems utilizing the Virtual Private Network (VPN) is recommended. The campus VPN offers a secure and encrypted connection, safeguarding your data and privacy while accessing sensitive information.
Thank you for your ongoing support and collaboration as we strive to deliver exceptional technology solutions to UCSC.
