UC Santa Cruz students with a CruzID can check out Dell Windows laptop computers or chargers from the self-service laptop kiosks located at both McHenry Library and the Science & Engineering Library for 12 hours free! After the initial 12-hour period, a usage fee of $2 per hour will apply.
How to use the Kiosk
To check out a device, visit the kiosk in either library, both located near the front entrance. Enter your CruzID and Gold password into the kiosk touchscreen and select your desired device type. After your credentials are authenticated, collect your selected device. Return the device to the same kiosk within 12 hours to avoid usage fees. Devices are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The same SaaS applications and software available through your CruzID will be available through these portable devices, allowing you to work from anywhere. When a device is returned, your personal information and activity are automatically erased.
