Instructions for using UCSC Conference Calling

From Analog Telephones

  • With first party on line, press service key (hold button or hookflash) and listen for recall dial tone. Dial Second party. To join all three parties press 3 and listen for conference tone (a long, high-pitched tone).
  • If second party is busy or does not answer, press service key once to receive recall dial tone and dial a different party.
  • Repeat these steps to connect up to eight parties; six of these may be off-campus.

From Digital Telephones

  • With first party on line, press available line key and dial second party. To join all three parties, press 3 and listen for conference tone (a long, high-pitched tone). I f second party is busy or does not answer, press C to disconnect.
  • Press the line key holding the first party to reconnect to that party, or press an available line key to dial another party.
  • Repeat these steps to connect up to eight parties; six of these may be off-campus.

From VoIP 6737i Telephones

  • With first party on line, press available line key and dial second party. To join all three parties, press conference key and listen for conference tone. If second party is busy or does not answer, press Goodbye to disconnect.
  • Press the flashing line key to reconnect to the first party, or press an available line key to dial another party.
  • Repeat these steps to connect up to eight parties; six of these may be off-campus.

From VoIP 6867i Telephones

  • With first party on line, press available line key and dial second party. To join all three parties, press conference key or “conf” soft key and listen for conference tone. If second party is busy or does not answer, press Goodbye to disconnect.
  • Press the flashing line key to reconnect to the first party, or press an available line key to dial another party.
  • Repeat these steps to connect up to eight parties; six of these may be off-campus.
