  • If you need immediate help on how to use a Canvas feature, use the email, chat, and phone support links in your Canvas Help menu for 24x7 support. Just click on the Help icon in your Canvas course:

  • If you want a hands-on session to work with an Instructional Technology specialist on your course, request a session and we will schedule a Zoom meeting.
  • If you want to reach an Instructional Technology specialist, send email to canvas.help@ucsc.edu. You can also call 459-5506 and leave a message 8AM to 5PM Monday through Friday.

Let's Get This Canvas Started!
 is a self-paced course in Canvas basics. You can use Let's Get This Canvas Started as a reference guide or take it as a course, completing the homework assignments at the end of each Module.

There are three modules:
Module 1: Setting your Home Page, adding a Page to a Module, adding text, photos, and videos to your Page
Module 2: Building an Assignment, posting an Announcement, creating a Discussion Forum
Module 3: Using SpeedGrader, building a Quiz, setting Course Navigation, using Student View
