Physical Hosting Services
ITS provides a centralized environment for housing modern computing equipment. Facilities include an on-campus Data Center, as well as a separate colocation Data Center off campus.
Both facilities offer secured cabinets, redundant power, firewall and virtual private network (VPN), cooling and physical security.
As of September 2021, any new requests will be placed in the colocation facility unless requirements warrant on-campus placement.

There are two options for physical hosting:
Self-managed
You are responsible for ordering and receiving the equipment. The Data Center team will work with you to determine the plan for installation of the equipment. You are responsible for all aspects of administering the server, operating system, and application. Rack space, network ports, and environmental monitoring are provided. Firewall and VPN services are also available upon request.
Managed Services
ITS offers system-administration services for Windows, Linux/Unix and VMware platforms. These services are not required; all server-hosting options are available in both "self service" and "managed service" mode. More information about Managed Services
Data Center Support
For planned maintenance, the Data Center follows the ITS Change Management process and planned changes are posted on the ITS Maintenance Calendar.
Data Center Standards
The Data Center's operating standards help to ensure the security and availability of this facility for all its customers. More information about Data Center Standards
