Physical Security Pricing
Basic Cost Structure
Depending on the technology used, available wiring, and security objectives, costs will vary by implementation. Many projects that include physical security cover the cost associated with the initial installation. After warranty periods expire, the division/unit becomes responsible for replacement costs.
For installations where a unit is adding a single Omnilock door, here are typical one-time costs:
- Omnilock and Portal Gateway costs
- Physical Plant Lockshop costs
- ITS wiring and port activation costs
For installations where a unit is adding CCURE, here are typical one-time costs:
- PP&C costs if applicable
- ITS wiring and port activation costs
- Vendor related costs to install and electrify door
Ongoing Costs
Units who use CCURE are encouraged to have a maintenance blanket purchase order to assist with any expenses that vendors will have in repairing aspects of their system. Units that use Omnilocks should be prepared to pay for routine maintenance from Lockshop for battery replacement.
Software Costs
To date, ITS has covered the expense of enterprise software licensing on behalf of the campus for Omnilocks, CCURE, and Genetec video management systems. Units have expected minor software licensing costs for Windows and VM software.
