Email Forwarding

Email Forwarding provides former students a way to continue using their email address throughout their lifetime. If a former student decides to opt-in to use this free service, all messages sent to their email address will be redirected to an email address of their choice. 

Email Forwarding is only available to degree-eligible students who left UCSC on March 22, 2013 or later and who are eligible for Extended Services. This service is for email forwarding only, no other UCSC Google Apps products. It goes into effect after the student's UCSC Google Apps account is closed (12 months after they leave campus) and only if they opt-in to use the service.

Privacy Statement: The personal information you provide is maintained confidentially by Information Technology Services and used solely for university business. Information is not disclosed without your consent except as required by law. Participation in this service is voluntary. You may review or remove your email forwarding address on file by authenticating to CruzID Manager at If you have questions, email or call (831) 459-4357.


Opt-in, Opt-out, or Change Email Forwarding

To opt-in, opt-out, or change your Email Forwarding email address, follow these instructions.
Note: If you are eligible for this service, you must opt-in anytime BEFORE your UCSC Google Apps account is closed. 

  • Go to the CruzID Manager website
  • Login with your CruzID and Blue or Gold password
  • Under Manage Email Forwarding, click on the opt-in, opt-out or change email forwarding link. You will only see this option if you are eligible for this service. 
  • To ensure that there is no interruption in delivery of mail to your address, make sure to also add a forwarding email address in your UCSC email account at least four days before your Extended Service terminates. This step is in addition to following the opt-in instructions listed above.
