FSH-Family Service

FSH-Family is a free encrypted WiFi network service for family members of UCSC students and staff living on campus in Family Student Housing. Students and staff with CruzID Blue credentials should use the ResWiFi service for campus-related study and work. 

Connection

• FSH-Family uses a WPA2-Personal Pre-Shared Key for device authentication.
• FSH-Family is compatible with most 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz devices. ITS recommends using 5 GHz for fastest service; and for desktop computers, use a dual band network interface card for best performance.
• Personally owned WiFi routers are not allowed in residential areas with FSH-Family.

Availability

FSH-Family is available 24/7. If the system requires maintenance, downtime will be conducted Monday - Friday, 3:00 AM - 7:00 AM, unless otherwise arranged with ResNet and Housing.

Get Help

• Residential Network Services (ResNet) provides support for staff, students and their family members living at Family Student Housing. When bringing your computer in for service, please bring your power cord and remove login passwords.
• Refer to Residential Network Services for office hours.
• Submit support tickets at Get Help. Refer to Residential Network Services (ResNet) for instructions on how to contact a ResNet staff member.
