SentinelOne provides protection against malware, spyware, and modern exploits for university-owned Windows and Mac computers. All computers receiving Managed Computer Support automatically get SentinelOne installed.

- The SentinelOne agent continually receives intelligence updates from SentinelOne servers.
- The agent is very lightweight on resources and offers minimal to no impact on work.
- SentinelOne initially performs a full system scan after which it monitors all system activity.
- ITS is notified of all malicious and suspicious activity.
How Do I Get SentinelOne?
Computers managed by ITS with BigFix get SentinelOne installed automatically.
Users of university-owned computers that are not managed with BigFix can download SentinelOne from:
- SentinelOne for Windows 10 and Windows 11
- SentinelOne for macOS Ventura, Sonoma and Sequoia (for both Intel and Apple Silicon based Macs)
SUPPORT NOTICE:
SentinelOne offers protection for macOS Big Sur (11.0) and later. Systems running macOS Catalina (10.15) or lower should be upgraded to a supported version of macOS. Please contact helpdesk@ucsc.edu for assistance in upgrading.

Once SentinelOne is installed on your computer, you will see the following "security shield" icon on your computer.
Windows The SentinelOne icon appears in the taskbar notification area. |

How Does SentinelOne Get Updates?
SentinelOne is a managed anti-malware agent and is configured with setting policies through a SentinelOne console used by ITS to administer the agent. At installation time, the SentinelOne agent is pointed to the correct console and is updated and monitored from there. The agent intelligence is continuously updated by SentinelOne.
