Acrobat PDF Information

Adobe Acrobat Pro allows users to view, create, edit, print PDF documents and forms and has a licensing cost. Adobe Reader is free to use for reading, filling out and printing PDF documents and forms. Web browsers also allow viewing and printing of PDF's. New licensing changes under Acrobat ETLA requires a department to identify all computers they are purchasing Acrobat Pro for. To assist in identifying features required for your staff that work with PDFs, this table below shows your options.

Most campus PDFs can be used with Acrobat Reader, Preview (on the Mac) or web browsers. There are several forms in FIS (financial.ucsc.edu) that require Acrobat Pro. Please check to see if you use these forms and ask your department to order an Acrobat Pro ETLA subscription license.
